Itinerary
Departure from Belgrade at 08:00.
A comfortable drive via Požarevac and Kučevo takes us toward Majdanpek, passing through the landscapes of Eastern Serbia known for their untouched natural beauty. After a scenic drive of approximately three hours, we arrive in Majdanpek.
Upon arrival, we visit Rajko Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in Serbia. The cave was named after the famous Rajko Vojvoda, who, according to legend, was an innkeeper by day and intercepted Ottoman caravans by night, hiding his treasure in this very cave. Rajko Cave was first explored by the renowned geographer Jovan Cvijić in 1894.
The guided tour of the cave lasts approximately one hour.
Afterward, we continue to the natural phenomenon Valja Prerast Natural Arch, reached after a short 20-minute drive. This is followed by a pleasant walk through the forest to this impressive natural stone bridge, approximately 50 meters long and 26 meters high.
Valja Prerast is the largest natural stone bridge in Serbia. Unlike many similar formations, it was not created by the collapse of a cave, but was patiently shaped over centuries by the Valja River, which still flows beneath it today.
After enjoying nature, we head to a traditional rural household, where an organized lunch with authentic specialties of Eastern Serbia awaits us. Our warm and welcoming hosts will ensure you experience the genuine atmosphere of this region.
