ONE-DAY TOUR • DEPARTURE FROM BELGRADE
08:00 – Departure from Belgrade
Set off on a comfortable drive via Požarevac and Kučevo
towards Majdanpek. Along the way, admire the rolling
hills, forests and unspoilt landscapes of Eastern Serbia.
After approximately three hours, arrive in Majdanpek.
FIRST STOP
Rajko Cave – A Hidden Underground World
Our first stop is Rajko Cave, one of
Serbia's most beautiful natural attractions. Named
after the legendary Rajko Vojvoda, the cave is steeped
in local folklore. According to legend, Rajko was
an innkeeper by day who intercepted Ottoman caravans
by night, hiding his treasure deep inside the cave.
The cave was first explored by the renowned Serbian
geographer Jovan Cvijić in 1894.
Today, visitors can discover its remarkable underground
formations on a guided tour.
Guided cave tour: approximately 1 hour.
SECOND STOP
Valja Prerast – Nature's Stone Masterpiece
Following our cave visit, a short drive of approximately
20 minutes takes us towards Valja Prerast.
Enjoy a pleasant walk through the forest before reaching
this magnificent natural stone bridge, approximately
50 metres long and 26 metres high.
Valja Prerast is considered the largest natural stone
bridge in Serbia. Unlike many similar formations,
it was not created by the collapse of a cave.
Instead, the Valja River gradually carved its way
through the rock over centuries and continues
to flow beneath the arch today.
Take time to admire this extraordinary natural landmark,
enjoy the peaceful surroundings and capture memorable
photographs.
